Five Logos

with one comment

While trying to remember interesting logos from shows I’ve seen, I ended up with a handful that I thought were really well made. Four recent and one from the nineties.

tatamigalaxylogo
Yojō-Han Shinwa Taikei (四畳半神話大系) received the English title The Tatami Galaxy. It has an extremely slick and simple design for its logo. It cleverly uses the kanji 四 by constroying it from a square shaped like a classic tatami layout which is very important to the plot.

kiminitodokelogo
I wrote about Kimi ni Todoke (君に届け) on my very first post after moving to WordPress. I love the pastel colors used on this logo which are very appropriate since the whole show has an amazing color palette.

toradoralogo
Toradora! (とらドラ!) may have a similar logo as Kimi ni Todoke, but it is applied in a different way. While both have sillabaries on top of circles, Toradora! likes to play around with logo by rearranging the circles around as episodes go by. The colors also differ a lot since it chooses some strong colors that supposedly represent the two main characters and their three close friends.

xamdlogo
Bōnen no Xamdou (亡念のザムド) received the English title Xam’d: Lost Memories. Among anime logos, this one jumps to my mind because of it’s unusual compactness. Really bold.

recordoflodosswarlogo2
Lodoss tō Senki (ロードス島戦記) received the English title Record of Lodoss War. The rock texture around the shiny golden letters contrasts a lot with the previous logos. It looks dated, but it conveys the Dungeons and Dragons atmosphere of this franchise with incredible efficiency. Built into the logo, the sword and the star are simple elements that automatically bring forth the idea of sword and sorcery.
