I recently watched the Di Gi Charat series once again and for the first time the movie and the specials. Back in the beginning of the 21st century, this was a really well-known show. It features Dejiko, a catgirl from another planet who flees to earth to escape an interplanetary attack and ends up working at an otaku store named Gamers in Akihabara. The store actually exists. It is part of Broccoli. From wikipedia: Broccoli Co., Ltd. (株式会社ブロッコリー kabushiki-gaisha burokkorii) is a Japanese media company that publishes manga, anime, and video games through its various subsidiaries. It can be found near the Akihabara subway exit.

On the Di Gi Charat Summer Special, Dejiko gains a new rival: Pyoko. She is leader of the Black Gema-Gema Dan. She has an army of tiny minions that have the katakana ゲ on their chests, just like Gerotan. Should this count as a Gerotan appearance? This would increase my count of his cameos to five different series: Majokko Tsukune-chan (2005), Animation Runner Kuromi 2 (2004), Cromartie High School (2003), Di Gi Charat specials and movie (2000-2001), and Sexy Commando Gaiden Sugoiyo! Masaru-san (1998).

Once again I come across a Gerotan appearance in a show directed by Hiroaki Sakurai. This time in the sixth episode of Majokko Tsukune-chan. I have no idea of who is the guy on the right.

A reference to Notting Hill on Ojamajo Doremi #. Retitled as Nothing Hell, it’s the movie the teacher of the girls is going to watch with her boyfriend. Below is a better view of this alternate poster.
